Whitebaiting

 

The whitebait season on the West Coast runs from 1st September to 14th November and during this time there’s an
excitement on the Coast as many peoplecome to try their luck at whitebaiting. Scoop nets and set nets can be used to catch this
gourmet delicacy. Catch your own at any of the local river mouths and retire back to your holiday house at Hapuka Landing
to cook up some fresh whitebait fritters for an appetizer over drinks.
